East Rand

The East Rand is a major urban area located in the Gauteng province of South Africa. It includes the towns of Bedfordview, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Edenvale, Germiston, Kempton Park, Linksfield and Modderfontein.


I grew up in the East Rand.

Kasi term for cigarette.

Pronounced (ggggaaah); this is a Xhosa term for ‘ew’. It has many uses, for instance when something disgusts you or when someone says you and someone would look good together then you say ‘rha’.

The term was populirized on social media when mothers posted pictures of their children with the caption "My bundle of joy".
